Effect of Zn level and source on the performance and bioavailability of Zn for broiler chickens in the starter period of rearing

Effect of Zn level and source on the performance and bioavailability of Zn for broiler chickens in the starter period of rearing

Annals of Animal Science Roczniki Naukowe Zootechniki 28(1): 155-173

Efficacy of inorganic and organic zinc compounds was evaluated in broiler chicken nutrition in two experiments carried out in the starter period on Avian and ISA cockerels. In both experiments, the fodder form of ZnSO4xH2O was used as the inorganic compound and Zn with amino acids (ZnAA) as the organic Zn-chelated complex. In experiment 1, 0, 10, 20 or 40 ppm of Zn as ZnSO4 or ZnAA was added to the corn-soyabean mixture and in experiment 2, 0 or 40 ppm, respectively.
