Effect of a nucleopolyhedrovirus of Anticarsia gemmatalis Hubner (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) on the biology of Nabis sp. (Heteroptera: Nabidae)

Bioassays to evaluate the effects of biopesticides on nontarget organisms are generally restricted to relating such effects to mortality rates, caused either by pathogenicity or toxicity, and changes in the predation or parasitism rate. Evaluations on survival and reproduction, necessary to construct fertility life tables, are also important by allowing a measurement of population growth rates of those organisms.
