Effect of chemicals on fruit maturity of Sardar guava

In a trial in Ludhiana, India in 1996-97, 6-year-old grafted trees of guava (Psidium guajava) Sardar were sprayed with urea (10 or 15%), potassium iodide (0.25 or 0.5%), potassium nitrate (4 or 6%), or ammonium sulfate (10 or 15%) at the full bloom stage. Guava fruits mature twice a year during the rainy and winter seasons. The fruits are considered mature when they have attained 'eating-ripe' stage.
