Effect of feeding extruded complete diet containing maize cobs in Ongole bull calves

Effect of feeding extruded complete diet containing maize cobs in Ongole bull calves

Indian Journal of Animal Nutrition 16(3): 210-214

Eighteen Ongole bull calves (1-1.5 years old, 158 kg), distributed into 3 equal groups, were fed on a control diet containing concentrate mixture and ground maize cobs in a 60:40 ratio, a complete diet (mash) containing 40% maize cobs and an extruded complete diet containing 40% maize cobs in a 180-day growth trial. A metabolism trial was conducted in mid-experiment to assess the effect of diets on nutrient utilization.
