Maize is mostly sown in mid-April in a single-cropping silage system but in a double-cropping silage system, the sowing is delayed until after mid-May. The agronomic characteristics and forage performance of the 8 recommended silage hybrids were evaluated at two sowing dates (15 April and 16 May) at Suweon, Korea Republic in 1997. Days from sowing to silking with optimum sowing date was 84 days and that with late sowing was 69 days.
