Effect of pre-harvest spray of calcium nitrate on shelf-life of guava (Psidium guajava L.) fruits cv. Allahabad Safeda

The effect of the preharvest application of calcium nitrate (at 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0% concentration) on storage life of guava fruits was determined in a study conducted in Uttar Pradesh, India, during 1984-85. The fruits were examined at 0, 3, 6 and 9 days of storage for their appearance, organoleptic quality, physiological loss in weight (PLW), respiration rate, total soluble solids (TSS) content, acidity, ascorbic acid content and disease percentage.
