With the objective of evaluating two feeding programs (4 and 3 phases), on the performance and carcass yield of two commercial strains (Hubbard and Arbor Acres) of broilers, 1600 1-day-old chicks were used, 800 of each strain. A completely randomized design, in a 2x2x2 (programxstrainxsex) factorial arrangement, with four replicates, was used. During the period from 1 to 46 days of age, no effects were found due either to programs or strains on weight gain and feed intake.
