Effects of milking stall visits with simulated failed milking on milk yield and milking performance

The effects of 'simulated failed' milking stall visits on milk yield and milking performance in 12 cows were studied in an automatic milking system over 16 days. Milking stall visits with failed milking caused less efficient milk removal in a milking executed shortly afterwards. If subsequent milkings are not delayed, then the average milking interval stays at the same level and has no significant effect on milk yield.
