Estimation of losses caused by peanut bud necrosis virus on yield parameters of groundnut

Field trials were conducted in Durgapura, Jaipu, Rajasthan, India, to assess the effects of bud necrosis virus (groundnut bud necrosis virus) infection on performance of groundnut Chitra planted in June 1995. Plants were assessed for disease intensity, and growth and yield parameters were recorded. Results indicated that increasing severity of disease was associated with a fall in both number and dry weight of pods. Plant height and biomass also fell as disease intensity increased.
