The fish wholesale market in Ping-Tung County is the major auction market for fresh yellowfin and bigeye tuna. Most of the fresh tunas for auction in Ping-Tung County are exported via airtight container to Japan for fresh tuna sashimi consumption. This paper discusses the market structure and the relationship between the fresh tuna markets in Ping-Tung County and Japan.
