Genotypic variability and heterosis for grain protein content in crosses between durum wheat (T. durum Desf.) and wild tetraploid wheat (T. dicoccoides Korn.)

Genotypic variability and heterosis for grain protein content in crosses between durum wheat (T. durum Desf.) and wild tetraploid wheat (T. dicoccoides Korn.)

Ege Universitesi Ziraat Fakultesi Dergisi 36(1/2/3): 25-32

Genotypic variability and heterosis were studied in F1 and F2 generations of crosses between four durum cultivars (Triticum durum) and wild tetraploid wheat (T. dicoccoides) in order to develop lines with high grain protein content. The results from this study implied that large genotypic variability for grain protein content existed in population composed of crosses between durum cultivars and T. dicoccoides.
