Charolais, Limousin, Hereford, Red Angus, Simmental and F1 Piedmontese x Friesian bulls were compared, a total of 95 animals, fattened in tie-stalls. Growth rate data were recorded monthly from birth to the age of 15 months, plus feed intake daily over a sixty-day test period (monthes 13 and 14). After reaching the age of nine months the bulls were offered ad lib. a total mixed ration composed of 75% corn silage, 20% concentrates and 5% hay.
