Hatching patterns of black boxed eggs in silkworm, Bombyx mori

Hatching patterns of black boxed eggs in silkworm, Bombyx mori

Journal of Experimental Zoology, India 4(1): 67-69

Silkworm eggs were kept in complete darkness by black boxing at the eyespot and blue egg stages to study hatching patterns. Eggs were released from the black box on the 10th day of oviposition at 08.00 h, and the hatching was recorded. The same procedure was adopted for other batches of eggs which were black boxed separately for intervals of 6 h continuing up to 54 h.
