Influence of intercropping chickpea with coriander on parasitisation of Heliothis armigera (Hubner) by Campoletis chlorideae Uchida

The effect of intercropping of chickpea with coriander was studied in the field. Plots sown with coriander within the row of grant significantly recorded higher parasitic activity (5.7 cocoons per 5 m row length), lower pest activity (2.33 larvae per 5 m row length), minimum pod damage (12.7%) and higher grain yield of chickpea (15.5 q/ha) as compared to chickpea sole crop. But in other plots where coriander was sown in alternate row of gram; and coriander grown after every two, three, and four rows of gram were also significantly better than the treatment involving chickpea or gram as a sole crop.
