Intake of fish and omega-3 fatty acids and risk of stroke in women

Intake of fish and omega-3 fatty acids and risk of stroke in women

JAMA, Journal of the American Medical Association 285(3): 304-312

Some prospective studies have shown an inverse association between fish intake and risk of stroke, but none has examined the relationship of fish and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid intake with risk of specific stroke subtypes. The association between fish and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid intake and risk of stroke subtypes was examined among women (aged 34-59 years) in the US Nurses' Health Study cohort in 1980.
