Integrated and biological control of root rot in raspberries

Root rot of raspberries (caused by Phytophthora fragariae var. rubi) is described. A method is presented to reduce the spread of the pathogen by covering ridges (planted with raspberries) with compost. Species diversity of fungal antagonists (Trichoderma spp., Gliocladium spp., and Chaetomium spp.) was greatest on top of the covered ridges and smallest in weedy areas.
