Integrated management of damping off in FCV tobacco nursery

The use of plant leaves, oilseed cakes and/or fungicides in the integrated management of damping off (Pythium aphanidermatum) in an FCV tobacco nursery was evaluated in an experiment conducted in Shimoga, Karnataka, India during the kharif season of 1997. Treatments consisted of freshly-chopped leaves of Gliricidia maculata, Pongamia pinnata, Azadirachta indica or Eupatorium odoratum at 3 kg/m2, neem or pongamia oilseed cakes at 400 g/m2, and/or 0.2% Ridomil MZ 72 WP or 0.5% Bordeaux mixture.
