Integrated management of the root-knot and reniform nematodes with cropping sequences and ploughing

In a 2 year crop rotation programme, none of the 25 different cropping sequences was effective in reducing the population of the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita and the reniform nematode, Rotylenchulus reniformis. However, it was observed that the fallow-cauliflower-sorghum-coriander (sequence number 22) and the sorghum-wheat-horse gram (Macrotyloma uniflorum)-turnip (sequence number 14) were beneficial in reducing the root-knot larvae and reniform nematode populations.
