This paper details recent efforts at Xuan Mai Forestry College to develop components of forestry training programmes with relevance to biodiversity and local knowledge. It draws upon experiences derived from a support programme for social forestry education in Vietnam, in which a participatory approach to curriculum development has been adopted.
