Integration between genetic and archaeobotanical data in a study on the evolutionary history of Pinus halepensis Mill. populations in southern Italy

The first results of multidisciplinary research on the evolutionary history of Pinus halepensis in Italy are presented. For this purpose the genetic structures of nine natural populations - four Apulian, four Calabrian and one from Basilicata - were studied using isozyme markers.
