Integration of food security and nutrition in forestry planning: the role of participatory approaches

Integration of food security and nutrition in forestry planning: the role of participatory approaches

Unasylva English ed 51(202): 19-23

A participatory methodology for including nutrition and household food security concerns in forest planning is described. It was developed and tested at a Workshop for the integration of nutritional objectives into forestry programmes, held in Thies, Senegal, in July 1996, organized under the Support for the National Rural Forestry Programme managed by the Community Forestry Unit of the FAO Forestry Department, with assistance from the Forests, Trees and People Programme (FTTP).
