The changes in membrane permeability and the enhancement of ACC production and utilization occurring due to seed priming are described in sweetcorn and lettuce. Examples of integration of matriconditioning with chemical and biological seed treatment to improve emergence and yield of table beet, tomato, pepper and sweetcorn are presented.
