Inter-population asymmetry and sexual dimorphism in Drosophila pseudoobscura. I. Differences among correlations of morphological variables

Inter-population asymmetry and sexual dimorphism in Drosophila pseudoobscura. I. Differences among correlations of morphological variables

Boletin de la Real Sociedad Espanola de Historia Natural, Seccion Biologica 96(1/2): 171-191

We analysed the morphological variation in the number of bristles on different body structures in Drosophila pseudoobscura populations from Colombia and the USA (California, Arizona) caused by the action of diverse evolutionary events. There was a significant amount of interpopulational asymmetry, with different effects on different variables. This fact led us to create 12 new statistical asymmetry definitions.
