The effect phosphorus-sulphur interaction on the uptake of N, P, K and S by cowpea on S-deficient and high-P red sandy clay loam soils was investigated during kharif 1993 and 1995 under rainfed conditions in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The treatments were in a factorial combination of three levels each of P (0, 50 and 75 kg P2O5/ha) and S (0, 20 and 40 kg/ha) and two sources of S (gypsum and elemental sulphur).
