An interaction effect of P and S on uptake of N,P,K and S by pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) in a 2-year field experiment on red sandy clay-loam soils deficient in available S and high in available P was investigated during the rainy season of 1993 and 1995 under rainfed conditions in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The treatments were in a factorial combination of 3 levels each of P (0,50 and 75 kg P2O5/ha) and S (0,20 and 40 kg/ha) and 2 sources of S (gypsum and elemental sulfur).
