Interaction of Bartonella bacilliformis with human erythrocyte membrane proteins

Interaction of Bartonella bacilliformis with human erythrocyte membrane proteins

Microbial Pathogenesis 29(3): 165-174

Evidence is provided for the specific binding of B. bacilliformis to human erytrocyte membrane proteins that are believed to be alpha , beta spectrin (230, 210 kDa); band 3 protein (100 kDa); glycophorin A (83 kDa); and glycophorin B (44 kDa dimer and 25 kDa monomer).
