Geographical features, land use for agriculture and livestock farming in Mongolia are discussed. Livestock farming, including dairying, represents a clear example of a classic type of nomadic animal husbandry relying upon a seasonal pasture rotation-use system. The mean number of livestock is about 12 animals/head. Recently the number of cows, goats and horses has increased.
