Molecular regulation of the plant cell division cycle and plant growth regulation: the Arabidopsis thaliana root as a model system

Molecular regulation of the plant cell division cycle and plant growth regulation: the Arabidopsis thaliana root as a model system

Mededelingen Faculteit Landbouwkundige en Toegepaste Biologische Wetenschappen, Universiteit Gent 64(5b): 359-362

Arabidopsis thaliana roots growing on solidified agar medium has been identified as a suitable system for studying cell division. Besides cell cycle duration, the number of dividing cells in each meristem played a major role in determining organ growth rates.
