Based on a study of seedling development in 4 species representative species of the family Anacardiaceae in Sao Paulo, Brazil (Schinus terebinthifolius, Lithraea molleoides, Myracrodruon urundeuva and Astronium graveolens), important morphological characteristics for identification of the seedlings and/or plants in the field were selected, and a key for identification of the species elaborated.
