Rectal temperature, heart rate, blood values (acid-base balance, haemoglobin (Hb), haematocrit (Hk), MCHC, gas content and gas pressure, haemoglobin derivatives, cortisol, T4, FT4, FT3, total protein, albumin, blood urea, creatinine, glucose, lactate, Ca, Mg, P, Fe) and salivary cortisol concentration were measured in 45 calves before and after liquid intake at 5, 15, 40 and 60 days of age.
