Occurrence of infectious bronchitis in layers - seroprevalence and isolation of virus

5680 paired serum samples from layers on 138 farms in Tamil Nadu showing drops in egg production (10-60%) and poor egg quality were tested by micro-haemagglutination inhibition test (HI) for infectious bronchitis virus (IBV). Three farms (2.17%) were positive for IBV alone, 15 farms (10.87%) were positive for both IBV and Escherichia coli, 2 farms (1.45%) were positive for IBV and aflatoxicosis and 1 farm (0.72%) was positive for IBV and EDS-76.
