Occurrence of symbiotism and twin seedlings in Santalum album

Occurrence of symbiotism and twin seedlings in Santalum album

Indian Forester 126(12): 1347-1348

Seeds of the hemi-parasitic plant Santalum album were collected from fallen fruits and following pretreatment (soaking in water, rubbing seed coat to remove soft pulp, then wrapped in wet paper and dried in the shade before sowing) a 53% germination rate was observed, which included the emergence of twin seedlings.
