Ochratoxin A in coffee, tea and beer

Ochratoxin A in coffee, tea and beer

Archiv fur Lebensmittelhygiene 51(4/5): 89-94

To determine the ochratoxin status of the German population, 357 samples of coffee, 161 of tea and 318 of beer were analysed for their toxin content during a 3-year period. The samples were purchased in retail shops in Germany. Analysis was performed by applying immunoaffinity columns and the toxin was detected by HPLC. The detection limit for coffee was 0.3 micro g/kg powder.
