Preliminary tests of biological control of chestnut blight against Cryphonectria parasitica (Murr.) Barr causing chestnut blight

Preliminary tests of biological control of chestnut blight against Cryphonectria parasitica (Murr.) Barr causing chestnut blight

Phytophaga Palermo 9(Supplo): 145-150

A mixture of hypovirulent strains of C. parasitica, isolated from chestnut trees in Castelbuono, Geraci Siculo and Mezzojuso, Italy, were used to inoculate virulent cankers in a chestnut grove placed in Zotta Caldaia in land of Castelbuono. Two years later, 80% of the inoculated cankers were completely healed.
