WCL-YS1 (Registration number GP-29, PI 610492), lesquerella (Lesquerella fendleri) germplasm was released in 1999 by the Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture at the U.S. Water Conservation Laboratory, Phoenix, Arizona. WCL-YS1 was developed from 2 single plant selections from yellow seed coat colour, numbered 268 and 271 which originated from the wild accession PI 311165, collected in Arizona.
