Roost preferences and foraging ranges of the eastern forest bat Vespadelus pumilus under two disturbance histories in northern New South Wales, Australia

Roost preferences and foraging ranges of the eastern forest bat Vespadelus pumilus under two disturbance histories in northern New South Wales, Australia

Australian Journal of Ecology 25(4): 352-367

Little is known about the habitat requirements of Australian bats, but this information is needed to make better-informed decisions when systems are disturbed. This study contrasts the roosting and foraging ecology of the eastern forest bat Vespadelus pumilus, one of Australia's smallest bats, between two sites of differing disturbance history on the mid-north coast of New South Wales.
