The sampling distribution of wheat midge Sitodiplosis mosellana (Gehin) cocoons, soil-dwelling larvae and pupae, were determined using Taylor's power law. The regressions of the Taylor power law mean-variance relationships were highly significant (P<0.001) with slopes significantly greater than unity (P<0.01) for all stages, indicating aggregation.
