Seasonal pattern and the effect of seedling size on root growth potential of Scots pine, Norway spruce and European larch of Polish provenances

Seasonal pattern and the effect of seedling size on root growth potential of Scots pine, Norway spruce and European larch of Polish provenances

Folia Forestalia Polonica Seria A, Lesnictwo 42: 95-105

A study on the effect of lifting date and seedling size on root growth potential (RGP) of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), Norway spruce (Picea abies) and European larch (Larix decidua subsp. polonica) planting stock was carried out during two consecutive seasons (1995/96 and 1996/97) at Rogow Forest Experimental Station in Poland. Typical bareroot one-year-old (1/0) seedlings of domestic provenances of pine and larch were tested and two-year-old (2/0) seedlings of spruce.
