Some studies on pregnancy toxaemia in goats

Some studies on pregnancy toxaemia in goats

Egyptian Journal of Agricultural Research 78(1, Special Issue): 207-215

This study was carried out on 23 pregnant female goats, 1-3 years old and on their third month of gestation. Nine of the goats were subjected to starvation for 12 days and nine female goats were cases of sporadic pregnancy toxaemia; the remaining five goats served as control. Clinical symptoms of ketosis, including harried respiration, recumbency and teeth grinding, were observed in seven of the starved goats.
