Sources and levels of phosphorus on productivity, economics and phosphorus balance in rice-rice sequence in acidic soils of Assam

Field experiments conducted during 1992-93 and 1993-94 in an acid Inceptisol of Jorhat, India, showed a significant response to both the direct and residual effect of phosphorus. Total productivity (summer+winter) of rice increased significantly up to 51.6 and 38.7 kg P ha-1 during first and second year of experimentation and the highest net return was obtained with the application of 38.7 kg ha-1.
