Susceptibility of Spanish apricot cultivars to sharka (Plum pox potyvirus)

Susceptibility of Spanish apricot cultivars to sharka (Plum pox potyvirus)

Phytopathologia Mediterranea 38(3): 122-125

Sharka caused by plum pox potyvirus (PPV) is one of the main limiting factors in apricot (Prunus mume) production in the areas affected by this disease. The few Spanish cultivars evaluated so far were all found to be susceptible to PPV but in most cases, the work was done in uncontrolled field conditions and with isolates that do not exist in Spain.
