In field trials at Sumavy, Czech Republic in 1996-99, with various grasses and legumes, it was found that Tabor (11 t DM/ha), Amos and Radegast (12-13 t) were best suited to growth in single-species stands. (Lolium multiflorum x Festuca pratensis) hybrid Perun was a suitable substitute for silage maize at 700-750 m altitude; it could be used over a 2-year period.
