The early prediction of wood properties of Pinus taeda L



Journal of Northeast Forestry University 27(5): 25-28



Based on the variation pattern of wood properties obtained from the analysis results of measurement and the regression equations of latewood percentage, growth ring width, tracheid length, microfibril angle and air density, the demarcation of juvenile wood and mature wood of Pinus taeda was determined to be at the age of 15 years old with the analyses of optimum method of classification. The wood properties and relationship between juvenile wood and mature wood are also discussed.
