Abstract
The forest management programme of the Federal State of Brandenburg is presented. Its aims for the next 50 years are to decrease the area covered with coniferous forests from 75 to 42%, and increase cover with mixed cover forests from 11 to 41% and with broadleaved forests from 14 to 17%. Nature protection and the conservation of genetic resources are an integral part of this forest management programme.
