Variability, heritability and genetic advance under normal and rainfed conditions in durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.)

In a study conducted during 1993-94 in Hisar, Haryana, India, the range of phenotypic and genotypic coefficients of variation, heritability and genetic advance were estimated under normal and rainfed conditions for eight quantitative traits in sixty progenies derived through selfing and intermating in durum wheat cross Shwa 's' x V44. The biparental mating is able to maintain variability for selection of improved genotypes.
