HB, a new pomelo variety

South China Fruits 32(2): 3

HB is a pomelo variety, which was introduced to China from the United States in 1990. HB fruits mature between the end of November and early December and weigh between 1-1.5 Kg. Fruits are oblate in shape with a glossy orange/yellow rind and very juicy reddish flesh of reasonable eating quality. In composition, the fruits contain a soluble solids content of 14.39%, an ascorbic acid content of 85.1 mg/100 mL, and a total acidity of 0.88%.
