Agricultural development in Saga paddy field area and in Uwaba upland field area

This paper assesses the declining productivity of rice fields in Saga Prefecture (Japan) while that of the "Uwaba" upland rice fields increases. Currently, the level of farm income in the "Uwaba" upland area is equal to that in the Saga area.
