An analysis of socio-economic constraints to the adoption of modern agricultural technology in Dakshin Dinajpur District of West Bengal - a case study

A survey of 80 farmers in Dakshin Dinajpur district, West Bengal, India, in 1997-98 revealed that a wide gap still prevails between the availability and use of technical know-how. Lack of marketing, transport, and storage facilities further aggravate the situation. Insufficiency of capital is also a great factor in the poor adoption of technology.
