Analysis of systematic influences on number of pigs born alive by using Bayes-based estimation procedures

Analysis of systematic influences on number of pigs born alive by using Bayes-based estimation procedures

Zuchtungskunde 74(3): 183-193

The analysis was based on 414 243 litter records of Bavarian crossbred sows for the number of pigs born alive (NBA). All data sets were provided by the LKV Bayern. The variance components for NBA were estimated taking into account the fixed effects of station, breed of boar and breed of sow as well as their interaction, parity number, and type of insemination.
