The relationship plant-animal in terms of the availability and quality of the forage, the animal behaviour, voluntary intake, and milk production, was evaluated in a silvopastoral system of Star grass, Cynodon plectostachyus, Leucaena, Leucaena leucocephala and Algarrobo, Prosopis juliflora, through the year. It was found a greater variation on the availability and nutritive quality of the forage C. plectostachyus that on the L. leucocephala at different times of the year.
